Mrs Fisher then wants to use such technologies as augmented and virtual reality on her students, to improve their vocational education and training options.
The VET teacher and career’s adviser will get this opportunity after being awarded a 2019 Premier’s Teacher Scholarship.
Ms Fisher received the Premier’s Vocational Education Scholarship which supports the study by a vocational education training accredited teacher or career advisor undertaking a VET co-ordination role at their school to examine best practice in vocational education for students.
Ms Fisher’s proposed study is titled Advancing Skills for the Future - The Use of Immersive Technologies in VET, and will include a study tour to United Kingdom, Germany and Australia.
“I’m really looking forward to it,” she said.
“I want to look at what’s happening around the world that I can bring back and hopefully implement here.
“I want to improve our delivery methods and I guess get kids exposed to the technology that is out there because it is the way they are going to have to learn when they move into the world of work and university.”
