4.35pm: Sydney-bound commuters have been warned to expect delays due to a vehicle fire on the M1 Princes Motorway near Helensburgh.
Emergency services are on the scene of the fire, with the incident located just north of the Helensburgh exit.
Initial reports suggest the the vehicle alight is a car that was being transported by a tow truck.
However, the car has been separated from the truck.
One of two northbound lanes on the motorway are closed.
The NSW Transport Management Centre says traffic in the area is heavy.
Motorists should exercise caution and allow extra travel time.
