The band Short Stack may not be known to many people, but the mere mention of them is enough to make tweenage girls swoon. The Central Coast trio - made up of Shaun Diviney, Andy Clemmensen and Bradie Webb - has not even released an album, yet they are busy accumulating fans and statistics with songs such as Shimmy a Go Go, Sway Sway Baby and Princess.Last year Short Stack won the Channel [V] Oz Artist of the Year Award, while their record label Universal claims they are Australia's "biggest band on YouTube with over 1.4 million views".Windang tween Sonnie Tease and her friends Veronica Blair and Te Marama Katipa were wide-eyed and speechless yesterday at news the big-haired punk-pop-rockers would be in Wollongong next Tuesday."I like their music and ... the way they look," Sonnie, 11, said."I just got really excited when I found out they were coming - I am looking forward to meeting them."To promote their upcoming album, Stack is the New Black, released on August 14, the band will perform a handful of songs at the Crown St Mall Amphitheatre from midday.Afterwards, in what is bound to create Beatles-esque mania, the boys from Budgewoi will sign autographs for their fans. Sonnie, whose bedroom is papered in Short Stack posters, said she would be speechless if given the chance to meet the musicians. " ... They would give me weird looks," she said.
