Paul McLeay apologises

01 Sep, 2010 03:47 PM
Former Minister for the Illawarra Paul McLeay has apologised for visiting gambling and adult websites on his work computer.

Premier Kristina Keneally announced his resignation from the portfolios of ports and waterways, mineral and forest resources and the Illawarra this afternoon.

The member for Heathcote has released a statement saying: “I would like to apologise to the premier, my parliamentary colleagues, my electorate and the people of NSW.

“I apologise to my wife and family.

“I understand that as a minister I accept that I am held to a higher standard and that’s why I have offered the premier my resignation.”

He said he would not make any further comment and asked that his family’s privacy be respected.

Can we have a state election next week? Mind you the mindless sheep that vote for labour in this region will probably mean we get left behind by the incoming liberal government.

Am I dreaming? Is this reality? A movie?? Is this a soap opera,a farce or a tragedy? Perhaps it is all three! If a movie script was written about this mob, no one would ever believe it. How can anyone vote ALP in March to continue this bizarre excuse for a government? Why should we wait until March when our state NEEDS an election NOW!

A sure sign we are in safe (?) Labor territory. All our members, with the possible exception of Ms Bird, seem to be sadly lacking in either one or more of the following; intellect, social manners, honesty & a work ethic appropriate to their position. Not that Ms Bird has achieved a lot but she hasn't soiled her nest either! The sooner all the Labor voters out there develop some independent thinking the better for all of us.

Its ok Peter, a truck has blocked Maq Pass and the NSW Labor party has blocked the other roads into the region......boom boom.

A guy that visits adult sites? How dare he?! Now, can we start dealing with the really important issues in the world? Thanx.

Surely he will resign from parliament as well? He would if he had any integrity. What a pathetic bunch of political "dead cats" that we are stuck with in the Illawarra. Bring on the state election!

I'm not sure I wan to know anymore about where the Illawarra's local members are. One thing for sure they are not on the job they were elected for.
