Fire crews rushed to the car blaze on Heathcote Road, between Sandy Point and Lucas Heights, and found a kitten near the fire in bushland.
The kitten was safely recovered and received a “mandatory safety induction” before returning to the station on the fire tanker, a Facebook post by NSW Rural Fire Service Sutherland Shire said.
The kitten is in the care of one of the firefighters and has been temporarily named Alpha.
Sutherland Shire RFS have asked for suggestions on what to permanently name the kitty. Let them know your suggestion here.
