Fire and Rescue and Rural Fire Service brigades found a semi-trailer truck well alight after they received a call about 6.45pm.
A HAZMAT crew assisted in mopping up a diesel leak from the truck, which had no load, a Fire and Rescue spokesman said.
Crews used breathing apparatus to attack the fire and needed to prevent further spillage of fuel.
There were no injuries reported and crews worked together to extinguish the blaze.
The road was closed while the scene was rendered safe and crews left about 10.20pm.
