Radomir Vukovic appeared in court yesterday charged with conspiring to murder Dusan Krstic in 2007.
The 47-year-old's arrest comes just weeks after another man, Tevi Kolomatangi, was also charged with planning Mr Krstic's murder.
Police claim the pair conspired at Redfern between September 8, 2007, and October 4, 2007, to murder Mr Krstic.
It is alleged that Vukovic also plotted to murder Mr Krstic during stints in the Sydney suburbs of Toongabbie and Surry Hills.
Vukovic, dressed in a grey jacket and T-shirt, appeared in court about midday yesterday after he was arrested and taken into custody on Thursday night.
He did not make an application for bail; it was formally refused.
Magistrate Les Mabbutt adjourned the matter to next Wednesday when Vukovic is set to appear via audio-visual link.
Co-accused Kolomatangi fronted Lithgow Local Court on November 28 over the conspiracy to murder count. The 43-year-old was charged on the same day over the infamous 2007 shooting of Dragan Sekuljica outside Wollongong's Splashes nightclub.
Kolomatangi faces allegations he murdered Mr Sekuljica and shot 44-year-old security guard Robert Gyles.
Kolomatangi's arrest was the latest in a string of arrests over the nightclub shooting.
Tarrawanna man Zlatan Popovic was the first to be charged, fronting the Wollongong Local Court in September of this year.
Police allege the 40-year-old planned Mr Sekuljica's murder and made several cash payments to the gunman shortly after the shooting.
Mr Sekuljica was gunned down outside the Cliff Road nightclub just before 3am on September 8, 2007.
The father of two ran back inside but collapsed as the shooter fired a further three shots, including a fatal bullet to his head.
Mr Sekuljica died at the scene while security guard Robert Gyles was shot and injured.
The second man to be charged was Jason Hristovski, who appeared in Lithgow Local Court earlier this month facing counts of murder and shooting with intent to murder.
The court is yet to hear details of Hristovski's alleged involvement.
A third man, a 26-year-old from the Illawarra who cannot be named for legal reasons, is facing the same charges and has been refused bail.
Popovic, Hristovski and the 26-year-old will appear in Wollongong Local Court next week.
Kolomatangi will appear in the new year.
