These five lads have been touring the east coast of Australia with their debut album, titled nst.
They trekked as far north as Brisbane and were over the moon when they got a huge positive response from Queensland crowds.
Never See Tomorrow’s bassist Aaron Zivkovic is also the director of Summer Winter Scene, one of Shellharbour City’s surf shops.
When I asked him why metalcore and hardcore music is so prominent now, he said he thought it might be due to bands like Parkway Drive becoming so popular, with many other bands following suit.
He said it seemed like the heavier the music now, the more popular it was with the younger crowds.
I have to agree and say that the best-selling electric guitar strings we have now are the heavier strings that make it easier to tune your guitar to a lower pitch, making it more ‘‘hardcore friendly’’.
Kids seem to be tuning their guitars so low that they are putting bass players out of a job. But hey, there’s nothing wrong with that, unless you’re a bass player looking for work I guess.
I also checked out Never See Tomorrow’s new film clip for their track The Reality of a Dream, which was filmed around Sydney Harbour. It looks like the lads had plenty of fun filming, making good use of their air-guitar and air-drum skills.
It’s got 50,000 views already on YouTube. Nice one fellas!
The band also packed out Aaron’s shop earlier this year when they put on a show for the all-ages crowd.
The band is managed by Ben Neilson from Collateral Manage Co, who is fast becoming a big player in the alternative music scene as he keeps bringing out popular punk and hardcore bands from the United States to tour Australia.
I wish the Never See Tomorrow boys the best of luck in the future, even though they probably won’t need it, as they are already looking like a shoo-in for the Vans Warped Tour this year.
