Telstra begins to restore service after blackout

Telstra has restored service to around 50 per cent of its Digital Business customers in NSW and the ACT following an earlier blackout.

The problem affected the entire country, and customers in WA and SA have since had their services restored.

A Telstra spokeswoman said the organisation expected all services would be back up within a few hours.

‘‘Root cause is still unknown, as focus is on restoration then working out what went wrong,’’ the spokeswoman said.

‘‘What we do know is that the problem lies in the underlying platform not individual services so we are unable to restore services on a priority basis.

‘‘We apologise sincerely to customers and are working to restore services as quickly as possible.’’
