Several South Coast clubs need a victory in this afternoon's penultimate one-day round to keep alive their hopes of making the final later this month.
Five of the eight clubs remain in contention for the December 21 final, but most need to win today and next Saturday to play off for the first trophy of the season.
One-day leaders Oak Flats take on overall premiership leaders Shellharbour in this afternoon's standout clash in round eight at Geoff Shaw Oval.
Oak Flats (56 points) lead Kookas (51) in the one-day competition, with Lake Illawarra (44) in third spot, while Kiama (39) and Shellharbour (39) are still a rough chance of making the one-day final.
Oak Flats' Michael Arblaster smashed 113 and Nathan Brown an unbeaten 125 against Kookas last Saturday, with the pair putting on a stand of 243 in the big win by the Rats.
In today's other games, Lake Illawarra need to beat Gerringong-Jamberoo at Howard Fowles Oval to keep alive their hopes of making the one-day decider.
Gerringong-Jamberoo are coming off a great win over Shellharbour, with skipper David Reid leading the way with a fine 60, while 17-year-old Liam Turner took 4-25.
Meanwhile, Kookas know a win over Kiama this afternoon, plus victory over Lake Illawarra next Saturday would seal a one-day final place.
Kiama have won their past two games and are in their best form of the season.
In today's other game, The Rail host Albion Park at Croome Cricket Oval.
