Steve Blissenden took a caught and bowled off the second last ball of the match as Helensburgh beat Port Kembla by a run in a one-day thriller at Helensburgh Oval.
Port No 11 Nathan Simpson (23) was almost the unlikely hero, smashing two boundaries and a two off the first four balls of the last over of the match before hitting a return catch to Blissenden.
"It was heart-in-mouth stuff again," Helensburgh coach Tim Lloyd said.
"Twelve to win off the last over looked like it was going to happen before Blisso jagged a catch."
The Burgh posted 5-228 - the highest score in round eight - led by Josh Piper's 58, Blissenden's 45 and an unbeaten 42 by Adam Thorogood.
But Dan Lee kept Port in the game with a well-made 78 and with Anthony Purdevski making an unbeaten 20 batting at No 8, Port never stopped trying.
Meanwhile, half-centuries by Richard Marsh (55 not out) and skipper Michael Stephenson (53) spearheaded Dapto to a clinical six-wicket victory over Northern Districts at Reed Park.
Norths posted 178 after Rhys Marsh (54) and Mark Johnson (59no) led the way on a batters' track.
Pat Hammond (3-45) and Dale Scifleet (2-26) bowled well for Dapto, who leapfrogged Keira into second.
"It was a pretty flat track and our bowlers set it up and the batters finished off the job," Stephenson said.
"We're playing well and the two-dayers will suit us so we think we are in a good position in the run to the semis."
Meanwhile, University batsman Robert Lane made a brilliant 91 in his first-grade debut to lead the Students to victory against Wollongong at North Dalton Park.
The 20-year-old Commerce student batted No 3 and came in at the fall of an early wicket to hammer 10 boundaries in a solid, chanceless knock.
Set 190 for victory, Wollongong's Andrew Hicks (35) top scored and entering Mitchell Hearn's 46th over they needed four to win with two wickets in hand.
But Hearn took 2-1 off four balls to back up Sharath Shailesh's 5-31 spell for the Students.
Meanwhile, Balgownie made it a two-day and one-day double over Keira this season with a five-run win at Keira Oval.
Corbin Brown top scored with 85 for Bally, who posted 9-206.
Nick Bell took 3-23 for Keira, who were led by openers Graeme Batty (62) and Mark Johnston (45) in the run chase.
Spinner Kody Freeman took 5-38 for Bally.
Finally Corrimal (6-132) beat Wests Illawarra with more than 19 overs to spare at Figtree Oval.
Wests skipper Dan Bogovac (60) top scored, with Brad Jardine taking 4-27 for Corrimal.
Cougars opener Kurtis Trindall smashed 79 off just 86 deliveries.
Ladder: Balgownie 56; Dapto 45; Uni 41; Keira 39; Helensburgh 33; Norths 32; Port 28; Corrimal 27; Wollongong 21; Wests Illawarra 9.
