One of the Kiama region’s best-known boutique holiday destinations is up for sale.
Kiama Country House and Cottages at 41 Jerrara Road, Jerrara, includes a five-bedroom main residence along with three cabins, and is listed with Ray White Kiama.
Jerrara Road lies between Kiama and Jamberoo.
The current owners bought the eight-hectare property 20 years ago and have been running it as tourist accommodation for the past 14 years after building the main house.
Initially it was operated as a traditional bed-and-breakfast, but more recently visitors have been able to either book the cabins individually or the entire property.
The house and cabins combined can sleep 26 people.
Ray White director Michele Lay said it had been popular as a venue for corporate team-building weekends, wedding parties and wellness and yoga retreats.
‘‘It’s very popular, one of Kiama’s most sought-after holiday destinations,’’ she said.
‘‘The owners are very attached to the house but have reached an age where they are looking to step back a little and are looking to do some travelling.’’
Set amid rolling hills with views of both the ocean and the surrounding countryside, the property offered seclusion while being just a few minutes’ drive from Kiama, Ms Lay said.
‘‘It’s very quiet and peaceful, but when you want to go into town it’s just two minutes to Woolworths.’’
One hectare of landscaped gardens encompass the main residence, with citrus orchard, chicken house and vegetable garden. The property also features original dry stone walls, a creek and waterhole.
Kiama Country House and Cottages went on the market just before Christmas.
Ms Lay said there had been some ‘‘good interest’’ in the property.
