Albion Park need a solid partnership and Kookas early wickets on day two of their round 12 clash at Oakleigh Park.
The third-placed Kookas were rolled for 136 on a slow pitch and outfield on day one as No. 9 Scott Cox (45) top-scored.
Rob Monaghan took 4-28 for Park.
Kookas fought back to see Park resume at 2-15.
Albion Park take on Lake Illawarra tomorrow at Howard Fowles Oval in a Sommers Twenty20 Cup semi-final clash.
In the other semi-final, second-placed Gerringong host Oak Flats at Gerry Emery Oval.
The semi-finals start 9.30am; the final starts 2pm tomorrow at Howard Fowles Oval.
Meanwhile, Shellharbour will chase 401 for victory today against the Lakers in their clash at Howard Fowles Oval.
Lakers opener Kerrod White made 196, as the hosts hammered their 400 in 81.3 overs. Last Sunday he smashed 156 for the South Coast rep side against Shoalhaven in the final of the Jeffrey Cup.
White’s back-to-back tons earned him his second Carlton Mid NSW Regional Player of the Round for the season.
In other round 12 games, Oak Flats took first innings points from last-placed The Rail and are on track for an outright win.
Kiama spinner Matt O’Brien took 6-18 off 13.3 overs to put his side on top against Gerringong-Jamberoo at Cavalier Park.
The Jets were dismissed for 119 and Kiama resume at 4-71.
