THE man at the centre of the Essendon Football Club drug scandal, Stephen Dank, is set to hold a tell-all luncheon in Ballarat next month.
Dank, the figure many blame for leading the most damaging drugs scandal to hit Australian sport, will speak at the Bunch of Grapes Hotel on May 2.
There, he is expected to shed light on the drugs scandal and also open himself to questions from the public.
Dank is accused of leading the supplements program at Essendon, which has brought down a number of club figureheads, including coach James Hird, CEO Ian Robson, chairman David Evans and high performance manager Dean Robinson.
Although he is yet to face the Australian Sports Anti-Drug Authority, Dank has still put himself forward to speak openly on the controversial issue.
It is not the first time he has spoken publicly about the issue since becoming embroiled in the Bombers' scandal.
In addition to his interview for ABC program 7.30, Dank also spoke as part of an all-star panel at a Riddell Football Club fundraiser at Crown Casino three weeks ago, where he said he would not cooperate with ASADA.
Organised through former VFL football star Mark "Wacko" Jackson, Bunch of Grapes owner Jamie Morcombe said it promised to be an entertaining afternoon.
Although he was not sure exactly what Dank would talk about, Morcombe said many people would relish the chance to ask him questions.
"I daresay there are a fair few people out there that don't like what he's done and will want to hear him talk," he said.
"He's a hot topic at the moment and hopefully he might be able to shed a bit of light on what has happened."
ASADA says Dank has committed more than 30 doping-related violations relating to the 2012-13 supplements program and has issued him a show-cause notice.
Tickets for the event cost $60 and include a three-course meal and can be purchased in the pub or by visiting www.bunchofgrapes.com.au
