Gainsborough store thefts
Police will be reviewing CCTV footage from a store in Gainsborough to identify a group of six or seven, 10-17 year olds who entered the store at about 2.30pm on Monday, April 21 and left with nine cans of drink without paying. The same group came back at about 5pm and left with the same quantity of chocolates without paying.
Officers injured
Three police officers were injured during the arrest of a 40-year-old man in Tullimbah on Friday, April 25. The man was charged with Skye’s Law, drive in a manner dangerous, driving under the influence and resist arrest.
He will appear in Albion Park Court on June 4.
The incident occurred about 7.20pm on that date when police on Tongarra Rd allegedly saw a ute swerve onto the wrong side of the road and narrowly miss them.
A pursuit then took place, ending outside a residential address on the Illawarra Highway at Tullimbah. Police surrounded the vehicle, with one officer climbing onto the rear tray. They ute accelerated onto the driveway of the home before stopping.
The driver was arrested following a violent struggle. He was taken to Shellharbour Hospital with an injured arm and minor grazes. The officers suffered an injured leg, cuts to the arm and an injured eye.
Steal from vehicle at caravan park
Sometime between 10pm on Monday, April 28 and 3am on Tuesday, April 29 an unknown number of people gained entry to a silver nissan parked at a caravan park in Gerringong. A torch, jacket, tools and torch were taken. Police have access the CCTV footage of the area.
Rock thrown in carpark
Motorists were lucky not to be injured when at least 10-12 youths aged between 10 and 14 threw a rock from an upper level of a carpark at Stockland Shellharbour on Monday April 28. The rock hit the sunroof of a car roof, bounced off and hit the door of a second vehicle, causing damage to both cars.
Plates stolen
On Friday, April 25 sometime between 6.30pm and 8.30pm front and rear number plates were stolen from a Ford Focus at a car park of a hotel in Memorial Drive, Shellharbour.
Car drives through wall
An 82-year-old driver was uninjured after he reversed into a brick wall in Meares Place Kiama at about 12.10pm on Thursday, April 24. He told police he was trying to avoid some youths on skateboards when the incident happened.
Failure to leave premises
An Anzac day drink has ended in a court appearance for one 24-year-old male. He has been charged with failing to leave licensed premises and resisting arrest. He is due to appear in Albion Park Court on June 4.

*Police are continuing investigations into an incident on April 10 in which a 13-month-old baby was left unattended in the carpark of a shop at the Shellharbour super centre. A concerned shopper called Triple 0 after observing the child in the car for more than 15 minutes. The woman was located at the checkout of a store. Police observed the temperature inside the car was noticeably warmer than outside.
*On April 2 police arrested and charged a 26-year-old-Kiama man with numerous offences including stalking and intimidation, two counts of assault and being armed with intent to commit and indictable offence as well as malicious damage.
In March 16 police had cordoned off part of Bland Street Kiama searching for the accused.
He is due to appear in Wollongong Local Court on June 5.
