The Tigers handed the Blacktown Spartans their first loss of the campaign last weekend.

Before the match the Spartans had won their first nine matches, but buoyed by the influence of former Sydney FC duo Blake Powell and Marc Warren, APIA inflicted a 3-1 defeat.

They'll look to hand out a similar streak-stopping result to the Wolves at Lambert Park, but South Coast coach Nahuel Arrarte is determined not to let that happen.

"They're only a point above us, but we know it's going to a be a really tough game," Arrarte said.

"They showed what they're capable of by beating Spartans, but we want to make sure we stay in touch with that middle pack of teams, so we need to go up there and try and take something from it.

"I have full confidence in our squad to get the job done. As weeks go by our lads are getting fitter and have a better understanding of what we want to do."

Arrarte will welcome back a list of first-grade regulars for the clash after many sat out the club's midweek 5-2 Waratah Cup win over Parramatta which saw them qualify for the FFA Cup.

Darcy Madden, Peter Simonoski, Chris Price and Joey Lavalle are all likely to return into the selection fold with skipper Jacob Timpano set to spend another weekend in the stands.

Compounding the midweek injury crisis was a bout of illness which hindered the club but Arrarte wasn't willing to let the situation slow his squad.

"We can't use it as an excuse, we're trying to be the type of team that's consistent every week and able to pick up regular results, so we've got to keep working towards that," Arrarte said.

"It's part of continuing to create a winning mentality."

Wins are at a premium at the moment with the Wolves on level points on the bottom of the competition with Manly United and St George.

APIA are a further point ahead of the trio, with Marconi only three points from the bottom.

"Every game at the moment is a grand final for us. We are nowhere near safe," Arrarte said.
