A group of five vandals stopped a Sydney to Wollongong train at Otford on May 31 and spray painted a mural on the side of a carriage.
Police swooped on three properties at 7am on Wednesday and arrested an 18-year-old man at an Austinmer home, an 18-year-old man at Bellambi and a 19-year-old man at Avalon.
Police transport command detective superintendent Bernie Ryan said police were working hard to keep commuters safe on the state’s rail network.
He said police were committed to investigating graffiti vandalism in the Illawarra and Sydney area.
