The Australia Diamonds produced a brilliant display of netball to exact revenge over perennial rivals New Zealand in the Commonwealth Games final in Glasgow on Sunday night.
The Diamonds won 58-40 to claim their first gold since 2002 as the two netball heavyweights met for the fifth consecutive time in the gold-medal match.
The defending champion Silver Ferns were unable to hold out a determined Australia, who maintained the same starting line-up of Caitlin Bassett, Nat Medhurst, Madi Robinson, Kim Ravaillion, Renae Hallinan, Julie Corletto, Laura Geitz (captain).
