A 19-year-old delivery driver stopped his car on Myuna Way in Mangerton to deliver pizzas at 8.30pm.
As he approached the address and walked to the top of the stairs, he was approached by two men, one armed with a metal pole resembling a baseball bat.
The men demanded the pizzas and the driver’s wallet and phone, then ran from the scene with four other men who were waiting just out of view.
The man armed with the metal pole was described as being Caucasian, aged between 20 and 30, about 180centimetres tall with a medium build and wearing a blue hoodie with the hood pulled up and a white bandanna concealing his face.
He wore dark pants and light coloured gloves and spoke with an ethnic accent, according to the description.
The second man was described as being aged between 20 and 30 with a skinny build and about 170centimetres tall. He was wearing a dark coloured hoodie with a bandanna concealing his face, and had long brown curly hair.
A full investigation is underway and Wollongong detectives would like to speak with anyone who may be able to assist.
Just after the Mangerton robbery, at about 9.35pm, three men - one armed with a knife - entered a Kanahooka convenience store.
The men went behind the counter of the Lakeside Drive shop and threatened the 23-year-old male worker, demanding cash and cigarettes.
The employee was not injured but the men stole cash and cigarettes before running from the store.
The men were described as being aged in their late teens or early twenties, with light olive skin and wearing dark hooded jumpers.
Anyone with information should contact Lake Illawarra police.
