Speedy Wollongong guard Jahii Carson's horror show against Adelaide on Thursday night has been put down to illness.
Carson played just 17 minutes in the 94-73 road loss to the 36ers, finishing with four points on 1/7 shooting.
The 22-year-old was weakened by a virus he picked up at the start of the week and was still feeling the effects during the clash with the Sixers.
He is expected to take his place in the starting line-up for Sunday's home game against the New Zealand Breakers.
"Jahii had a bit of a spew at half-time and he'll see a doctor as soon as we get home to get better for Sunday," Wollongong captain Oscar Forman said on Friday.
"He got crook early in the week and missed our training and video session. Trying to get someone up to speed when they're sick and they miss our only training for the week, that's kind of tough."
Carson's backcourt partner, Gary Ervin, picked up the slack with a game-high 29 points against the 36ers, 22 of which he scored in the first half.
Ervin's haul boosted his season average to 19 points per game, fourth in the league. Ervin is also fifth in the league in assists with 3.8 per game.
Carson and Ervin will be up against one of the NBL's best players on Sunday. Breakers guard Cedric Jackson was the league MVP two years ago and has a history of playing well against Wollongong.
Jackson will be fired up after two straight losses.
