Less than 48 hours after toying with the Hawks, Sydney Kings import Josh Childress served up one of the most captivating all-round performances in NBL history in Sunday's 107-100 victory over Adelaide.

After missing Sydney's loss to Cairns the previous week through suspension, Childress generally did as he pleased in Friday's 29-point romp against Wollongong, finishing with 18 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and two blocks.

That was small potatoes compared to his spellbinding display against the 36ers.

Playing the entire 40 minutes, the former NBA forward racked up 36 points, 19 rebounds, seven assists and five blocks.

"The smartest thing I did was leave Josh in," Kings coach Damian Cotter said after Sunday's win.

"It wasn't the points that were impressive.

"He got himself to the free throw line when it mattered, he had continual effort on the boards, he was just tremendous.

"He's carried himself with class since the incident a few weeks ago and he'll continue to go from strength to strength."

Overshadowed by Childress' dominance was the steady performance of Sydney's import guard Kendrick Perry.

Perry scored a game-high 21 points against Wollongong and added 14 in Sunday's triumph.

"I just want to work at being a better point guard," he said.
