Carson appears to be under the impression members of the Hawks playing group or staff were unhappy with his performances on the court during the 2014-15 season.
The 22-year-old American import was touted as a potential NBA draftee before heading to Australia and linking with the Wollongong club. He finished the season playing off the bench and has now jetted off to Serbia to join KK Metalac Valjevo in the Adriatic Basketball Association.
Carson averaged 14.5 points a game with 43 per cent shooting, but made only 15 three-pointers at 29 per cent for the season.
He averaged 2.4 assists per game, but was fourth in the league in turnovers, averaging 2.6 a game.
Carson had barely been out of the country a week when he took to Twitter on Friday morning to vent his frustrations at the Hawks.
"Lol my old team in Australia tried to say I was a disappointment. I lead the team in scoring with 25 minutes a game," Carson tweeted.
"No freedom to play my game. No freedom to eat and still lease (sic) the team in scoring and I was the second highest paid on the team as a rookie.
"Come on now they need to cut it out. I didn't say nothing the whole season about them and they tried to down play me."
It is unknown exactly what sparked the series of tweets.
They also came just seven days after Carson had posted a photo on his Instagram account with Hawks club man Phil Driscoll at the end of season presentation night.
The caption on the photo expressed Carson's gratitude to the club and its supporters.
The Hawks have bigger issues, however, as the club fights to stay alive without a major sponsor.
