The goal-fest of 33 goals in the six first round games was replaced by a much more competitive four matches yesterday producing 12 goals in wet conditions, with big guns Dapto Dandaloo and Albion Park making it two straight wins to start the season.
Julian Minutillo scored in each half for League champions Bulli in a deserved 2-1 victory over Bellambi at Elizabeth Park.
Minutillo struck in just the 17th minute and sealed Bulli's first win with his second on 71 minutes.
Bellambi scored a consolation goal with virtually the last kick of the game.
Port Kembla claimed their first win and remain unbeaten by handing promoted Shell Cove FC a second straight defeat with a 3-1 win at Wetherall Park.
In a bizarre opening five minutes, both teams struck through an own goal, before Matt Tesoreiro scored twice for Port.
Dapto Dandaloo put eight goals past Woonona on the opening day but were made to work hard for a 2-1 victory against Wollongong United at Macedonia Park.
Vaughan Patterson made a three goals in two games with a double for Dandy after it was 0-0 at halftime.
Giovanni Leuzzi equalised for United but Patterson had the last say for the title contenders Dandaloo.
Albion Park are tipped as one of the teams to beat this season and also made it two straight wins by beating Woonona 2-0 at Terry Reserve.
Daniel Dafkovski had a mixed day for White Eagles; putting the home side in front on 15 minutes, but was sent off along with a Woonona player following a second half incident.
Brian Montanari made it 2-0 for White Eagles on 39 minutes and leave Woonona with plenty to do after two losses to start the campaign.
Meanwhile, Thursday night’s clash between Cringila and Tarrawanna was abandoned due to a storm just before kick-off.
A new date for the clash has yet to be advised.
Finally, on Saturday Wollongong Olympic host South Coast United to complete round two.
In round three beginning next Saturday, Bulli host Cringila, Shell Cove FC are at home to Bellambi, Woonona host Port Kembla, Tarrawanna welcome Wollongong Olympic and Albion Park host Dapto Dandaloo.
Next Sunday South Coast United host Wollongong United.
