Dozens of Illawarra kids battled it out for ribbons at the Wesley Hall, singing numbers from films and stage shows.

Albion Park's Charli Priestley, pictured, was one of the littlies competing in the morning session.

In the afternoon, teenagers donned costumes to portray characters from famous musicals in the musical theatre section.

The eisteddfod continues over the weekend, with the dance sections kicking off on Saturday.
