Northern Pirates continued to reign supreme at the top of Illawarra baseball with a 9-3 win over Berkeley Eagles at Fred Finch Park on Saturday.
Despite the six-run margin, the Pirates had to battle fiercely for victory when they led just 3-2 heading into the seventh inning.
They rammed home five runs at the top of the inning to put the Eagles to the sword.
Jess Lynch picked up two RBIs for the ladder leaders, third base Liam Blackbourn hit 3/5, including a double and two RBIs, and Matt Sainsbury continued his recent good form when he hit 3/5.
Mick Shipp was the pick of the Eagles batters, going 3/5.
Brenden Lower pitched six strong innings to guide the Pirates to the win.
In the round's other game, Dapto Chiefs hammered Shoalhaven Mariners 14-1.
The Chiefs were rarely troubled, slamming home seven runs in the third inning before following it up with a further five in the fourth.
Starting pitcher Mitch Simon was a standout on the mound, going four innings for one hit, seven strike-outs, two walks and one earned run as well as hitting 2/4 with the bat.
