Regular point Rhys Martin missed the match through injury while Kevin Lisch played just 14 minutes before injuring his knee.
It left Tyson Demos, Kevin White and new recruit Jarrad Weeks to pick up the slack.
They delivered with Weeks’ top-scoring with 12 points while Demos had 10 from the bench.
With Lisch 50-50 for Sunday’s clash the trio are looking at more minutes on court but coach Rob Beveridge is confident that they are equal to it.
‘‘That’s one of the things we keep talking about, you’ve go to handle the adversity,” Beveridge said.
‘‘The intensity level that Tyson, Kev White and Jarrad Weeks played at really lifted us when they came on.
‘‘We were a bit flat in that first quarter but then the second quarter we were very very good.
‘‘That’s what got us back in the game.”
