The NSW Upper House inquiry into into the state’s vocational education and training system held it’s seventh public hearing on Monday at TAFE’s Wollongong campus. Director of the TAFE NSW Illawarra Institute Dianne Murray was first in the witness stand.

She was one of several to give evidence and questioned by a panel of seven regarding “immense difficulties” experienced by staff, new computer software which has failed to meet standard requirements, declining enrollments, and any areas that saw improvements at the institute.
Other organisation representatives to give evidence were from Southern Youth and Family Services also gave evidence, IRT College, Essentra Learning, Warrigal Care, the NSW Nurses and Midwives’ Association, and two teaching staff from the Institute. A final report is expected on November 17.
