They say when you are having a blue ribbon day, seize it as Henry also came in with a solid reddie of 4.43 kilos.

Late last week and over the weekend, there were big schools of these thumper kingies, spotted from North Sydney to well down past Jervis Bay and a few keen spear fishos including Kane Denham have been getting amongst some big fish of late off the platforms in the northern Illawarra.

Kane also upped his personal best king with one that went just over 18 kilograms, and he said his king was one of the smaller in the school with some fish estimated closer to the 25kg mark.  Kane topped his session of with a nice 3.5kg reddie.

Knife jigs have also been doing their share of damage on the kingies with Simon Pender accounting for multiple fish over 15kg down in Jervis Bay on the abu 200 gram salty stage jigs with his best also around the 18 kilo mark. 

Snapper have been about in good numbers of late too with the better fish still coming from the 50 metre depth range and beyond with the occasional shallow water knobby popping up.

Beaches have continued to fish well with plenty of flathead on offer off most of the northern beaches. 

Salmon and tailor presently continue to be in almost in plague proportions and are great sport on the lighter gear.

Bream and whiting are still about as well with the ever reliable live beach worms living up to their solid reputation as one of the best beach baits around for all manner of species.

Mulloway are still about in good numbers although they are lacking size with most fish being around the 4-8 kilogram mark but their bigger cousins have continued to be just as elusive as ever.
