On Sunday, Ocean Storm Tackle at Warilla and Wollongong Sportfishing Club will run the annual Lake Illawarra Flathead Classic. Competition base will be located on the common grassed area near the Windang boat ramp on the eastern side the main road bridge.
WSFC organiser Gordon Jobson said there had been some excellent catches of flathead over the past few days from the channel and the lake proper so hopes are high for a large turnout of fish and anglers.
The extensive prize list has been tailored to place emphasis on catch and release but there will also be awards for those fish retained. Entry forms and inquiries can be made at Ocean Storm Warilla or ring them on 0242 969 222. Inquiries to Gordon on 0413 361 784 or go to the club’s Facebook page.
