The Shellharbour club, will use the much needed funds to upgrade the playing surface, build a grandstand and improve amenities at the ground.
Cove treasurer Mitre Gjorgovski said the grant would be a huge boost for the club.
“It is much needed because you can see how much the venue is run down,” he said.
“It is a club that has grown as the area has grown so big.
“We have a lot of juniors because there will be nearly 900 to 1000 kids this year so we need extra money to make facilities and advance the club for there futures.”
Shellharbour MP Anna Watson was pleased to be able to provide some assistance to the fast growing club.
“This is a game that is increasing in numbers and seeing more and more players enrolling to play football. It is great that I can support this club,” Watson said.
“Obviously it needs a lot of work, the grounds and both the juniors and the seniors have used this oval previously so it is a great opportunity for me to be able to support them.”
Shell Cove is one of just two clubs from Shellharbour in the Illawarra Premier League.
They were promoted into the competition last year and proved to be a surprise packet for rivals as they survived their debut season to remain in the top flight.
