‘’The Cojuangco family at Goree have had plenty of trouble with this horse, he has had some many injuries which have almost ended his career but that was a really good win.’’ Mr Griffith said.
Pera Pera was always in the mix during a hotly contested affair but when they turned the 5 year old by Sweet Sense rushed away from Iron Blue and Heza Thief to win easily.
Pera Pera despite starting from the outside barrier was beautifully ridden by Aaron Bullock who said the horse performed brilliantly.
‘’He just shot away when I asked him too and from an outside gate he was very impressive.’’ He said.
The first two horses across the line head now to Randwick for the final of the NSW Country Championships with both horses genuine chances according to trainer Mack Griffith. ‘’We have won at Randwick in a restricted race this will be harder but we are a great chance.’’
Pera Pera started a $2.40 favourite, Iron Blue $17 with Heza Thief $3.50 third.
