Lisch returned to the NBL with Illawarra this season after two years in Europe and was outstanding in the Hawks return to the play-offs picking up his second league MVP award and defensive player of the year honours. He was also named Hawks club MVP.
The 29-year-old was named in Andrej Lamanis’ initial 26-man Boomers squad earlier this month subject to his citizenship being approved.
With his credentials now sealed Lish will turn his attention to making the 16-man cut for the squad’s July selection camp where the final 12-man roster for Rio will be determined.
Lisch has thus far played his NBL career exclusively under Rob Beveridge who recently re-signed for four more years and is widely tipped to return to Wollongong for the 2016-17 season.
