BRISBANE form expert John McLeod’s position is clear: Azkadellia is under the odds in the Group 1 Tattersall’s Tiara (1400m) at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
The Ciaron Maher-trained mare finished tenth, beaten 10.7 lengths in the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap a fortnight ago at the same venue.
McLeod said that while the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf winner was an undoubted wining chance in the race, the market dictated that he would need to play around her on Saturday.
“I think Azkadellia is under the odds. I can get her to even money if I forced it on her best rating but I don’t think she is going at her best,” McLeod said.
John McLeod orchestrated another winning day last Saturday at Ipswich and dominated Eagle Farm on its return to racing a fortnight ago. Secure his set for this Saturday here!
“She was in the wrong part of the track for certain the other day but she struggled to get past Big Money which doesn’t look good for me.
“She’ll come in the right part of the track on Saturday and Nick Hall has gone on board - he’ll ride her very, very quietly and come hard late.
“But I just think she might need a spell, that’s my personal opinion.”
