Known to friends as Mezza she called her fundraiser “Mezzathon”.
She was already taking collections at the Australia Post Depot where she worked but then thought walking the distance of the convoy route would be a good idea.
The walk worked so well she raised around $6,500 and has decided to do it again.
Ms Mouawad is walking from Scarborough Hotel from 5am on August 27 and eventually join the same route convoy takes at Springhill Rd.
She will finish at Croome Regional Sporting Complex.
Last year she completed the journey in eight hours and if she beats that time her first corporate sponsor to sign on for 2016 has offered to double their donation.
Evan Smith and Andrew Hannam, of Brookes Engraving, have also thrown out a challenge to other businesses to get behind Mezzathon at https://www.facebook.com/MtKemblaConvoy/?hc_location=ufi.
Mezza supporters will also be taking cash donations on the day of her walk.
She is expected to arrived in Wollongong CBD around 8.30am and is then encouraging other walkers to join her from Corrimal Street between then and 9am and then near Harvey Norman Warrawong a little later in the morning.
The actual Illawarra Convoy will be run for the 12th year on November 20.
