But a few years ago the RMS closed the Pass for many weeks to do some drainage works and add new drainage grates that were two small and blocked up.

Instead of replacing those grates with larger ones that worked, the RMS then removed all the trees and shrubs disturbing the undergrowth costing many hundreds of thousand dollars.

But the small grates still blocked up and rocks fell onto the road because they disturbed the vegetation.

On top of all that they resurfaced the road to try and get the water into the drains but the water still runs down the center of the road making it more dangerous than before they touched it.

Now once again they are closing the Pass I wonder what this lot will stuff up this time.

The faction in the Labor Party that corrupted politics at all levels in Wollongong will not end with Luke Foley selecting the candidate to replace Noreen Hay.

The faction that supported Hay still dominates NSW Labor.

It was the faction that caused the collapse of Labor's vote and the election of the Baird government.

The “captain's pick” to represent Wollongong does not address the problem. Factions are the cause, while they remain so does the problem.

Organised actions enable a core of members to ignore party democracy and install their selfish ideology.

They have produced “a political class” that serves their interests not the community's interests.

It caused the swing against Labor at the last election and it will be evident in the by election.

When we will be able vote for candidates who are not controlled by factions.

Let's hear it for Kitty Chiller please.

It seems clear to most that Rio is indeed a dangerous place to be un-escorted.

The safety of the Games' participants is of the utmost importance to the person responsible for that safety.

That person was Kitty Chiller and even gold medalists are not exempt from the rules in place. While we are enormously proud of any person chosen to represent our country rules are rules and as such should be respected.

Emma McKeon and Josh Palmer broke those rules and so must pay for their misdemeanors. Let's not make Kitty the "bête noir" for doing her job.

Imagine if either one of those young people was hurt or worse what would the outcry then be. Where were those responsible for their welfare?

However, well done to both of them for their achievements.

I am really concerned for Mike Baird. People are really getting sick and tired of his propaganda –  knowing what he is doing is wrong also at the taxpayer expense.

I really hope and pray that we win this fight just to wipe the smug smile off Troy Grant's face. We must keep up the pressure, not only for greyhounds but for the good country people of NSW who are in danger of being totally screwed.
