While he said staying overnight in the hotel was a bit like the film The Shining and he was also in the midst of footy grand final celebrations, the pub chef was producing “world class food”.
“The steak was cooked to perfection, the sauces were to perfections … it was mind-blowing,” he said.
Lloyd then apologised for getting sidetracked from talking about his next tour which is to support his seventh album Acoustica.
Classics like “Amazing”, and “Coming Home” have been reworked with the addition of some covers all “stripped back”.
The album was recorded in between writing songs for other people, writing music for film and being a dad.
“I have gone through a bit of a hiatus,” he said.

“I’m maybe more behind the scenes than in peoples faces … but I kind of want to get back on the road and start writing a new record.”
Alex Lloyd plays the The Oaks Hotel, Albion Park, on Saturday September 24. For ticket information visit: www.theoakshotel.com.au
