The Wollongong-born starlet plays the Holden racing legend’s long-time mistress Julie Bamford, who was his partner when he died in 2006.
“I haven’t seen any [of the mini-series] yet, I've seen the ad,” laughed the former Balarang Primary School student.
“I haven’t done anything like that in a while, I think [Underbelly: The Golden Mile] was the last one. I feel really proud of it, I felt like I worked really hard to get there.
“It wasn’t all fast cars … it was more about the connection Julie and Peter had.”
However jumping in a fast car was part of the deal for the star, who found the turbo charged experience “exhilarating”.
“I did get to do some of the stuff, I went in with Matt [Le Nevez who plays Peter Brock] and some of the stunt drivers,” she said.
“It’s so intense, it’s more full on than you can ever imagine, it’s so exhilarating you just want to do it again.”
Bassingthwaighte said should could understand why V8 drivers do what they do and would love the chance to be part of a celebrity race.
“I’ve always wanted to do it but contractually I wasn’t allowed, because it can be quite dangerous,” she said.

Hopefully her schedule will allow for something on the track in the next 12 months though it is shaping up to be busy for the mum-of-two.
The 41-year-old will be juggling time with daughter Harper, 6, and son Hendrix, 3, more entertainment opportunities plus managing Chi Khi, her venture into children’s fashion.
“Its keeping us on our toes, we’ve ... had lot celeb kids wear our stuff like Jessica Alba, the Kardashians - one of our dresses was warn on the show the other day by little Penelope [Kourtney Kardashian's daughter].”
Bassingthwaite is also back as the frontwoman of Rogue Traders, the band she left in 2008 to pursue her solo career, with “a few gigs lined up” including the Bondi Beachfest in November.
“There are a few other things that I can’t talk about, a bit of TV and a bit of music, it’s all good, happy days.”
Brock premieres Sunday October 9 at 8.30pm on WIN and continues Monday October 10.
