Studholme had made it to 80, batting with a runner after suffering an Achilles tendon strain while bowling earlier in the match.
However, the Wollongong captain’s hopes of a century to launch the Illawarra cricket season ended, when a quick run off Tim Laws blade caught runner and Studholme short.
It mattered little to the result, as the Lighthouse Keepers passed Corrimal’s score of 9-214 with 37 balls to spare.
“I was a bit rusty and I’ve never batted with a runner before,” he said.
“All I could do was watch on as he was caught short of his ground. But I’ll take it, we’re happy to get the win. I just came off sore during my over and couldn’t keep going.
“I was supposed to be in the rep team during the week, so I’m pretty sure that won’t be happening.
“Hopefully I’ll be right for next week.”
Corrimal batted first after winning the toss and opener Shannan Coso set a cracking early run rate, putting the Cougars on course for a big score.
It was opening partner Daniel Baldwin who rode the Corrimal rollercoaster, batting through before being dismissed as the ninth wicket, caught by Studholme two short of a century.
From 3-147, Corrimal collapsed, losing 6-43, before Baldwin and Lewis Smith pushed the score past 200.
“It looked like we would be chasing 250-300 early on,” Studholme said.
All I could do was watch on as he was caught short of his ground.
“We had to worked hard to peg them back, so we were pretty happy with chasing 214 in the end.
“It was a good run chase, we were always pretty well on target, but we’ve still got a lot to work on.”
Sam Mutch (1-31 from eight) and Blake Owen (2-31 from nine) worked hard to halt the flow of Corrimal runs.
Elsewhere, Lachlan Dunn fired with the bat, with 12 fours and four sixes on his way to 122 off 146 balls.
Dunn’s innings took Northern Districts to 7-232.
Premiers Balgownie were all out 168 in 42 overs, Anthony Sheeley inflicting the most damage with 5-34.
Helensburgh made short work of their run chase at Rex Jackson Oval on Saturday.
The Tigers blasted 3-228 off 36 overs to pass Keira’s total of 5-224.
Keira captain Mark Johnston was stranded on 99, coming to the crease at 2-34 and batting through the innings. Now atop the ladder after securing a bonus point, Helensburgh No.3 Hayden McCrae was 77 not out and captain Mitch McCrae made 62.
Dapto overpowered University by nine wickets with a run-a-ball chase.
Dapto had bowled the Students out for 126 in just 27.6 overs, opener Dale Scifleet proving hard to handle with 3-10 off his eight overs.
Port Kembla’s total of 5-248, led by Daniel Lee’s innings of 88 off 133 balls was out of reach for Wests, as Shane Clayton claimed five wickets.
