We worked hard to have a complete squad with a lot of depth, but everyone has to adjust when one of the pieces is missing. When it’s all going wrong two things happen. Firstly, people blame the imports, there’s a lot of expectation on them coming in as big signings.
We expect them to be a big part of what we do and how we turn it around.
Secondly, they blame the coach. In reviewing our performances, I’m as accountable as anyone and the Hawks produced one of the poorest performances I’ve ever been involved with against the Kings. Fit again after suffering a hamstring strain, Norton will help provide some of the backbone we need.
It’s a big game against Perth, who will come out fighting, even without key players in Damian Martin (jaw), Jarrod Kenny (groin) and new import Andre Ingram, who has been released on compassionate grounds.
If we can push our scoring percentage up and make our free throws, results can take care of themselves.
