Every time it happens it has a significant impact on our community, let alone the potential for serious injury or worse. As we broke the news, the comments came through thick and fast on our Facebook page.
“How on earth does this happen three times on the same corner?! For gods sake...slow down!,’’ one reader commented.
“ When are we going to address truck safety on this road, 3rd accident of this kind in 3 months, it's just pure miracle no one has been killed,” another said.
Then there was this post: “This is like the 100th truck roll over on this road!”.
That might be a slight exaggeration but as one wag posted “For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction , plus a social media overreaction”.
In the end, we need to all take responsibility on what can be a difficult road whether you are driving a truck or car and be respectful of each other.
Local resident James Ellison said car drivers need to take their share of the blame too.
“They don’t appreciate how heavy the trucks are and how hard it is for them to stop so they weave in and out, and want to get around them,” he said.
“The trucks coming down the road don’t mix very well with the cars.”
This should be yet another warning for this community to take extra care over coming months and do everything we all can to ensure this concerning run of accidents becomes a blip on the radar and not a trend.
TOP OF THE TABLE CLASH
Many of the “experts” picked Adelaide and the Illawarra Hawks to be in the bottom spots by this time in the 2016-17 National Basketball League season.
Yet, on Saturday night at the WEC, the Illawarra Hawks versus the Adelaide 36ers will indeed be a top of the table clash.
Admittedly the Hawks have been lucky to cling on to second spot after a disappointing weekend dropping a home game to the rejuvenated New Zealand Breakers and an away game to the Cairns Taipans.
This makes Saturday night’s clash a vitally important game for the Illawarra Hawks, who will be celebrating 200 club games for co-captain Oscar Forman.
It’s time to get loud and get the #hawkheads over the line Illawarra.
