Lake Illawarra’s Flathead Classic was held last Sunday, January 22, in absolute perfect fishing conditions. There were 232 anglers registered and 233 legal flathead were caught from the waters of Lake Illawarra down to the entrance at Windang Island.
Of the 233 flatties, 183 were released and 50 were retained.
Finals results have been posted up at http://www.reeldealfishing.com.au/index.php/hot-topics.
The mystery length flathead was 482mm however that length was not captured so the closest was a 480mm flathead caught by Hayley Ryan-Leach.
Thanks go to the members and committee of Wollongong Sportfishing Club who tirelessly ran the measuring, pointscore and presentation and of course the barbeque with special mention to Leo Stolk and Gordon and Sandra Jobson.
On the subject of special mentions, what about the massive sponsorship and prizes from Ben and the team at Ocean Storm at Warilla and also Steve Tooley Graphics at Oak Flats.
