FREE SPEECH FOR ALL
In Australia it was, I think, considered a democratic right to express your point of view without being subjected to ridicule, abuse and name calling.

The issue of same sex marriage has completely cancelled that right unless you agree with the same sex coalition.
To hold the opposing point of view that marriage is between a man and a woman ,now opens the holders of this view to a barrage of abuse from journalists, the media and the Twitter followers.
The treatment by these groups that was handed out to Margaret Court for expressing her view on the issue was disgusting.
It seems with this issue you are not allowed to hold the view of retaining marriage as it is.
It is interesting that the CEOs of major Australian companies were able to use their positions to support same sex marriage but Margaret Court is not allowed to use her position to support the traditional view of marriage.
On this issue unfortunately our democratic right of free speech has been lost.

GETTING SCHOOLED
The amount of money the Federal Government gives to the very wealthy private schools, I mean the really wealthy ones, not the Catholic schools, is disgusting.
These wealthy private schools end up far better off than the public schools, so there must be something wrong.
Many of are so wealthy they can afford to run their own fleets of buses.
These schools all sit on vast amounts of very valuable real estate in prime locations which they don’t need.
They could easily flog off some of their land, worth at least $5m an acre I would assume, if they need money, or they could build multi storey blocks of home units on part of the land, rent them out, and the rent itself would generate millions of dollars a year.
That is the economic rationalist solution.
I understand one wealthy school in Sydney is getting an extra $35m.
There would be many parents sending their kids to that school who could write a cheque for that much and regard it as petty cash if the school went to them cap in hand asked them.
I thought the age of entitlement was over?
The Liberals and their supporters complain about the Labor Party creating class warfare.
It's the Liberals who create the class warfare.
With this kind of policy have you wondered why the Liberals are behind in the polls?

BELIEFS UNDER ATTACK
In response to the letter by Adam Bonner ‘Living in a police state’ (Illawarra Mercury, Wednesday May 24, 2017) the title of this letter is very appropriate for the present times we are experiencing.
How proud would Lenin, Stalin, and Mussolini be with our society so caught up in the vacuum of increasing socialism, consumerism, and materialism?
Science and technology seem to have all the answers and so God is increasingly dismissed and Jesus Christ rejected as Savior.
We are continuously indoctrinated with the deception that Almighty God is limited, and mankind is not.
While this is happening human life, marriage, family and freedom are under serve attack from those in privileged and powerful positions who push an extreme socialists agenda.

SICK OF THE HYPE
Anyone like me getting fed up of this Corby character and news of the all sordid affair. I thought it was the resurrection of the Queen's mother the way this media is going on about it all.
