The four-month old girl, Anastasia Hand, died in Princess Margaret Hospital on May 26 after being found unresponsive by her father in their Capel home two days earlier and rushed to Bunbury Hospital.
The baby's parents, Cassandra Doohan and David Hand, 21, reportedly had to be sedated after learning of the baby's death.
It had previously been reported the parents believed she may have choked on milk while sleeping.
Ms Doohan has since been charged with aggravated grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
