The in-form Kembla trainer has struck up a winning formula with her daughter of Sebring which has seen the filly chalk up three straight victories.
Bring Cheer, which was previously trained by Bjorn Baker, was second at her first start for Bateup before winning convincingly at Moruya and Sapphire Coast last preparation.
She resumed with a gutsy win at Kembla Grange on June 10 and will look to make it four victories on the trot when she contests a Benchmark 67 TAB Handicap (1400m).
“She just such an honest little filly,” Bateup told The Punt.
“I know her first two wins were only at Moruya and the Sapphire Coast, but she did it easy in both those races.
“Then in a three horse field at Kembla, she was good too.
“She is drawn nicely and should run well again.”
Bateup had also nominated fillies and mares race over the same trip earlier on the card, but chose to run Bring Cheer in the final event.
“I just thought the other race had a bit more depth than this race. It was a toss up,” she said.
“This race had more mid-week form and she’s drawn a nice gate, where she should get a soft run from the barrier.”
The trainer hoped Bring Cheer could provide Kembla-based apprentice Brock Ryan with his first city winner.
Bring Cheer is a $13 fixed odds chance with TAB.
Meanwhile, Bateup will also saddle up Jarrett (race one) and Eskimo River (race two).
Tim Clark will pilot Jarrett in the All Too Hard @ Vinery Maiden Plate (1400m) for two-year-olds.
The gelding impressed Bateup at his first run at Kembla earlier this month and has continued to thrive for the trainer.
“He has gone ahead leaps and bounds,” she said.
“I didn’t think we would get to the races as earlier as we have and think he will be even better as a three-year-old over a bit of ground.
“I was really happy with his effort last start and Kembla and he has pulled up super from that run.”
Bateup intends to send the Jarrett to the paddock after the run.
Bateup also had a winner at Newcastle on Tuesday following a gutsy effort from Titaness.
