Wollongong actor Jordan Meaney, 26, is hoping his role in a new web series – that highlights the lack of diversity on Australian television – will be the launching pad for his career.

Meaney was cast as the loveable Ben in three episodes of THIRTY, which was recently nominated for Best Australian Drama at WebFest in Melbourne.
Currently he’s chipping away at the game with spots on TV commercials and short films while working in retail but would love to be a performer full-time.
“I want to be able to make and create films with funny talented people every day of my life, that would be the end goal,” said the former Woonona High School student.
“I loved the experience [on this project] working with someone who created it from scratch, wrote it and had a vision and got a whole pool of talented people together.”
THIRTY is a drama/comedy following four women stumbling through their early 30s and written by Tricia-Lyn Morosin.
Morosin said a lack of ethnic diversity in acting roles for size 16 women over 30 inspired her to create the show.
“[I wanted to showcase] real, wonderfully flawed Aussie women of different shapes, ethnicity and sexual orientation,” Morosin said.
