Announced as part of the Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Grants Program, the funding will allow for an extension to the club’s dining room and a new viewing area for Archer Racecourse as well as installation of a lift and disability accessible car spaces.
Kiama MP Gareth Ward, South Coast MP Shelley Hancock and Paul Green MLC made the announcement at the club with chairman Michael Martin and CEO Lynn Locke. The dining room will be extended by 5.1 metres, of which 3.5m will be undercover, while the remainder will become a step down viewing platform.
Mrs Locke said the announcement was “unbelievable for the club.”
“We are just so grateful. It is something we have worked on since 2014,” she said.
“It will allow us to extend our facilities and offer a location for conferences and weddings.”
