Upbeat arrangements of saxophones, trumpets, trombones and drums will accompany singers and the Broadway Swing Dancers at the WIN Entertainment Centre to present some of the biggest hits from the 1930s and 1940s.
Not only will Wollongong audiences be treated to original Glenn Miller arrangements, but also the music of the Andrews Sisters, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and the romantic wartime melodies made famous by Vera Lynn.
“Our unique jazz sound is sought all around the world and in addition to recreating the golden era of swing, we bring to life the colour, costumes and spirit,” said musical director Rick Gerber.
“The Glenn Miller Orchestra is a colourful and flamboyant evening filled with fun and nostalgia.”
