IS IT TIME TO FIND A NEW DAY, AUSTRALIA?
I agree with Glen. 26 January is the wrong date. Move it to a more appropriate date like January 1, when the Commonwealth of Australia actually came into existence and move on proudly.

Pol Pot, Stalin, and all the rest of the "year zero" despots that killed millions and attempted to wipe history in their own obscene ways have been embraced by the opinionated elites of today. Bring down statues, erase the genders, replace science with group think and now cultural vandalism. Facebook inspired marxism is an international mental illness and its growing thanks to non thinking media types.
Some people really need to get out of their latte swilling cliques and walk around in the real world for some perspective.

No.. It isn't time for a new Australia day.. It's time we shipped all the leftist do-gooders into shipping containers & dropped them off a ship in to an active volcano.

SMOKING OUT MARRIAGE DEBATE’S RED HERRINGS
What concerns me is that the definition of marriage is the union between a man and a woman. Call it something else besides marriage, we are re-defining the word marriage. Do we change it to the union of a person and a person? but that would discriminate those folks that fall in love with cars and trees, so do we change the meaning to the union of ones desire? If they want to be unified, let them, but using the word marriage does not sit well with me.

This ignorance is becoming annoying. The genesis (origin ) of the verb marriage , comes from the noun matrimony, otherwise translated as mother's (matri) money(mony) . To educated persons the distinction of a man and a woman was not needed. The title word use already explained that, as the only way you get the payday, mother's money, is by conjoining ovum and sperm aka, man and woman. John Howard changed nothing, he clarified the title for the simple people.
