MORE than a hundred women will dust off their pushbikes and scooters and take to the streets of Shell Cove to raise funds for a child battling leukemia.

Shell Cove resident Cassy Peters has again organised the ‘Shell Cove ladies wine tour’ fundraiser.
Last year’s inaugural event raised $6000 for Adam Regal and family.
Illawarra resident Mr Regal learned he had developed Motor Neurone Disease in December 2013.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday, October 28 in Shell Cove, from 9.30am to about 3pm.
After deciding to make it an annual event, Ms Peters said this year’s registrations had nearly doubled their 2016 numbers.
“Last year we had 76 ladies,” Ms Peters said.
“We were overwhelmed by the response last year.
“This year, we have 140 ladies getting together for an afternoon out, and to raise money for ‘Tuff Tyde’, and his family.
“Tyde (O’Neill) and his family are from Dapto. Tyde is two-and-a-half years old and is battling leukemia.
“He has two sisters and is in and out of hospital so much with treatment.
“Ash (Wheatley, Tyde’s mum) will be there on the day, as will the rest of his family.”
Ms Peters said the ‘ladies day out’-style tour consisted of a group of women riding their pushbikes, while visiting four houses/venues throughout Shell Cove along the way.
She described it as “a brilliant day”.
“It’s basically a group of ladies having a nice day/afternoon out, while raising money for Tyde and his family at the same time,” she told the Advertiser.
“It’s bikes, scooters or walking. The first stop we have a DJ, and the last stop we have a band playing.
“There’s food and games at each stop, and a glass of wine here and there.”
Ms Peters said they were aiming to raise $10,000 in 2017.
Ms Peters said they’d had $11,000 worth of prizes donated.
Participants can also buy raffle tickets and make cash donations on the day.
Organisers will also visit The Links at Shell Cove about 5pm that day in order to sell tickets for a public raffle that will be drawn at the venue about 6.30pm.
