Adventure Reels (the force behind the Banff Mountain Film Festival and Gutsy Girls Adventure Film Tour) is footing the bill, as founder Jemima Robinson is passionate for gender equality in film.
“With all of our festivals we would love to show more films made by Australians and also more films about and made by women. This grant is the first step in actively supporting more women to make and feature in adventure films,” Ms Robinson said, adding the winning entry will be added to the annual film festival.
“What we are looking for is an adventure that has a good story behind it and a film maker/photographer that can bring that story to life. It doesn't need to be a world first or the largest mountain, mostly we are looking for a great story, an interesting idea or adventure.”
Applications for the Travel Play Live Adventure Grant are open until February 28 via www.travelplaylive.com.au
Winners announced at an awards night in Sydney on May 3.
